Five military installations. Nearly 500,000 residents. One in seven people here has served. Colorado Springs sends flowers for occasions most cities never see: deployment returns, USAFA commissioning week, graveside orders at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in January, PCS moves where the address changes three weeks after the order is placed. We have handled Colorado Springs deliveries since 2017. Same-day means the arrangement reaches Fort Carson housing or a Briargate front door the same afternoon it is ordered.
Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base, the Air Force Academy, Schriever, and Cheyenne Mountain: five installations in one city changes what a florist needs to know. Base addressing is a logistics question before it is a flower question. USAFA graduation week in May compresses three months of typical order volume into eight days. We know both problems, and we know the routing.

The Denver wholesale market is about 70 miles north on I-25. That is where most of the stems come from for florists working in or near Colorado Springs: a refrigerated run, usually finished before 8am, that sets the freshness baseline before the florist has touched a single stem. The distance is not long. But it matters more here than it would at sea level.
At 6,035 feet, the air pulls moisture out of petals faster than most people expect. Lower atmospheric pressure accelerates transpiration even in a cool room. A hydrangea that holds for a week in a Denver apartment can be drooping by Wednesday morning in a Colorado Springs living room running AC. The humidity differential between outside air and a cooled interior is wider at altitude. I try to mention that on every call where it applies, and I do not always get there before the caller has already committed to something that will not last.
What I steer people toward for the Springs: carnations, alstroemeria, lisianthus. Waxy petals, multiple buds, structures that handle dry air without needing twice-daily water checks. A Designers Choice with garden roses is beautiful. It also requires more care at altitude than it would in Houston. I say that too.
Active-duty senders make up a real share of the Colorado Springs calls I take. The questions are specific: base addressing, whether we can reach Evans Army Community Hospital inside Fort Carson, what to do if no one answers at a barracks address. We work through all of it. The calls take longer. That is not a complaint.
Flowers from $49.99. Flat-rate delivery: $16.95. Order before 1PM for same-day arrival. Saturday cutoff is 10AM. Call (800) 946-5457 for base addresses or hospital room questions before you place.
Colorado Springs orders go to homes, base housing, and hospital rooms at Penrose and UCHealth Memorial. These four hold up well in the dry mountain air.
A soft summer palette: mint, peach, dusty magenta. Reads patriotic without being primary-color literal. For a city with five military installations, this one earns its place well beyond the Fourth of July.
View ProductDark-background presentation palette, deliberately not school colors. Works for USAFA commissioning, NCO graduations, and local commencements without guessing the right shade of blue.
View ProductFor the homecoming that has been months in the making. The florist works to a warm, celebratory palette brief and builds it fresh that morning. That difference shows when it arrives at the door.
View ProductA Designers Choice built around mood, not a fixed stem list. Soft, garden-style palette. Strong for anniversaries, for the occasion that does not fit neatly into one category.
View ProductWe work from a North Carolina office. Your order routes to a partner florist in or near Colorado Springs and they make the arrangement fresh the morning of delivery. Base addressing is a conversation we have worked through hundreds of times since 2017. If the routing on your order is complicated, we call you before it goes to the florist.

Colorado Springs is a military city. The occasions that come through our order queue reflect that. Sympathy for a veteran’s family. Graduation at the Academy. A homecoming that was delayed twice. The third card below is one you will not find on most florist sites.
The condolence order for a veteran’s family is different from most sympathy calls. The loss is often sudden, the family scattered across multiple states and time zones, and the people who want to send something have no local knowledge. Getting the right flowers to the right address, on time, is what matters most. The sentiment is understood. The logistics are what actually need help.
The full sympathy range covers both home delivery and service arrangements.
From what I hear on the phones, Pikes Peak National Cemetery accepts fresh flowers year-round with one exception: callers who have ordered for a winter graveside often find the cemetery has shifted to artificial arrangements only between late November and mid-March. I have redirected enough of those calls to know it catches people by surprise. The rule makes sense when you understand the conditions, cold ground, wildlife, the practical reality of a national cemetery in a mountain climate. If you are planning a graveside delivery between December and mid-March, call us at (800) 946-5457 first and we will work through the options. For a home condolence delivery, a sympathy bouquet to the family’s residence is almost always the right move. The home, not the venue.
Parents flying in from out of state for graduation week at the Air Force Academy are working with a tight window and no local knowledge. The Academy’s May commencement is the highest single-week order volume we see for Colorado Springs all year. We start processing USAFA graduation orders six weeks out. Ordering ahead is not overcautious. It is how you avoid the problem.
Joan’s read on what holds up at altitude: The Graduation Designers Choice relies on disbud chrysanthemums as the core structural stems. They handle altitude and May heat better than open garden roses would. A parent arriving from out of state has no feel for what survives at 6,000 feet on a commencement field. The disbud holds its shape through the ceremony and still looks good at the reception. Browse the graduation range to compare options.
Order before 1PM and it arrives today. Saturday cutoff is 10AM.
Order for Colorado SpringsDeployment returns in Colorado Springs rarely come with much advance notice. We take orders placed the morning of the homecoming. We have turned those around. If you know the date ahead of time, order the night before. If you do not, call us.
The flowers for a homecoming work differently than any other occasion. There is no protocol, nothing that says what is appropriate. From the calls I take, people want something that reads as celebration and nothing else: full, warm palette, nothing complicated. The Welcome Back Designers Choice fits that brief. The florist builds it fresh that morning and it arrives looking like what it is. The celebration range has further options if you want to compare.
Tell us the address type and the occasion. For a home or apartment, the Welcome Back or Romance Designers Choice covers most situations that do not fit one category. For Penrose Community Hospital or UCHealth Memorial, we steer toward lower-pollen stems in a compact arrangement. Large floor pieces do not belong in hospital rooms, and some wards have restrictions we know about. For a military address where you are not sure about base access, call before you order: (800) 946-5457. We sort the routing before anything goes through.
Order by 1PM weekdays or 10AM Saturdays for same-day arrival in Colorado Springs.
Across Colorado Springs and nearby areas. No surge pricing, no mileage fees.
800-946-5457. Small team in NC, weekday hours.
Active-duty base deliveries require civilian contractor access that most florists cannot arrange independently. Evans Army Community Hospital, inside Fort Carson, follows the same model. For base addresses, call us at (800) 946-5457 before you place. We will discuss the options, including delivery to the nearest accessible gate or a confirmed civilian address nearby.
Between May and September, PCS season moves large numbers of service families into Temporary Lodging Facilities. TLE addresses change quickly. If you are sending to someone in a PCS transition, confirm their current address before ordering. Civilian addresses across Colorado Springs, Briargate, Old Colorado City, Broadmoor, and Manitou Springs are standard residential. Order before 1PM weekdays for same-day arrival. Saturday cutoff is 10AM. Sunday delivery available on Mother’s Day only. Questions: (800) 946-5457.
Homecoming orders were their own category at the shop, and they taught me something about what flowers actually do. The person placing the order was not following a custom or filling an obligation. They were trying to say something they could not say in words, after months of not being in the same room. The usual conversation, what color, what budget, what occasion, took a different shape. Budget rarely came up first. "I just want it to look like I mean it" was the kind of instruction I got at that counter regularly.
What I learned to reach for was something full, warm palette, nothing fussy. An arrangement that read as presence, not presentation. I carry that instinct to the calls I take now for Colorado Springs orders. The callers have the same thing on their mind, worded differently. The flowers are doing the same work they always did. The distance is just longer now.

Once your order is in, it routes to a partner florist in or close to Colorado Springs. They handle everything from there: cut fresh, built that morning, delivered to the address you gave us. Our North Carolina office is at (800) 946-5457, available until 5PM Eastern if anything needs adjusting before cutoff.
One question worth settling before the order goes through: will they be home? A doorstep delivery at 6,000 feet in July sun does not hold the same way it would somewhere cooler. If there is any chance they are out, a quick message to a neighbor who can bring it inside takes thirty seconds and saves a wilted arrangement. Saturday orders need to be in by 10AM for same-day delivery.
